Orange Amplifiers... The Legendary British Guitar Amplifier.

Started in London in 1968 by Cliff Copper as a recording studio and then eventually becoming the Orange retail store. Originally, Cliff had some difficulty in acquiring new stock for the Orange store so they concentrated on selling used equipment. Being that used equipment was popular at this time, the Orange store became a source of gear for many of London's musicians.

After many failed attempts to becoming a dealer of new amplifiers, Cliff decided to take matters into his own hands, designing his own brand of amplifiers. With an early collaboration with Mat Mathias of Matamp, this first Orange amplifiers were born. With the bold orange tolex and creamy mids, the Orange amplifiers really stood out and musicians quickly took notice.

In 1972 Orange designed one of the world's most iconic amps and ushered in a new era for Orange visually and sonically. The "Pics Only" only displayed symbols for the controls which was much different than any other amp on the market.

Almost 20 plus years later, Orange did it again, with new modification to the legendary Overdrive amp circuit, Orange was able to add more gain and once again re-define the Orange tone. The AD series soon followed and quickly became the go to amplifier for Jimmy Page.

In 2006 Orange once again designed another legendary amp and it changed the entire music industry. The designers at Orange created the first small foot-print, low wattage, amplifier, the Tiny Terror. About the size of a lunch box, the amp had that legendary British tone at a more user friendly volume. To date, almost every amplifier company has followed suit and designed their own Lunch Box Amp.

Players like Jimmy Page, Geddy Lee, Jim Root, Tim Sult, Pepper Keenan, Glenn Hughes, and Stevie Wonder, as well as many other notable musicians rely on Orange for their tone.
