Deanna Sweeney

Instruments Taught: Guitar, Ukelele, Voice

Deanna Sweeney has been a widely recognized name in the Central Ohio music community by both musicians and music fans alike for over 20 years. She grew up in a family of musicians and was heavily influenced by the roots oriented music they would play. Since then, she has developed a love for a variety of different styles such as rock, blues, country and jazz. Her career began as a vocalist and co-founder of the popular cover band Kokomo Jo. She was also the co-founder, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for the rock band No Such Fate, whose self titled CD received excellent reviews. Aaron Beck of the Columbus Dispatch calls Deanna a “singer with skill, passion and a confidence lacking in most voices. Anyone remember Black Velvet singer Alanna Myles? Deanna Sweeney’s voice recalls that early ’90s powerhouse…”

Currently, Deanna sings, plays guitar, spends time in the recording studio, and performs on a regular basis throughout the mid-west with a variety of different groups, including the popular country band Jacked Up, who has shared the stage recently with some of Nashville’s hottest new country music stars.
