Abbey Bechtol

Abbey Bechtol is a music instructor and composer with experience teaching piano, saxophone, bass guitar, and clarinet. Abbey strives to help students improve their technique and develop an understanding of music theory by analyzing the music they play. She believes it is important to foster an appreciation for music as an art form and the depth of emotion it can convey.
Abbey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2020. She studied music composition with Dr. Jim Puckett for 3 years and classical saxophone with Dr. Adrienne Lape for 2 years. During her time at Mount Vernon, She was first chair alto saxophone for Chamber Winds and the Symphonic Wind Ensemble and served her last two semesters as student director. She plans to continue her education by getting her Master’s in Film Scoring through Berklee College of Music Online. Recently, she has written a concert-style rock opera titled “Shadow and Starlight.” She also enjoys writing for chamber ensembles and instrumental solos.
Abbey has been teaching private lessons at Music Royale since June of 2019. She also helps record Music Royale’s music discovery series, “Musicgarten” which you can watch both complete seasons on our YouTube channel.
