Jon Boley

Jon Boley was born and raised on the east side of Columbus. He graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and was a member of the Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Phil Wallace. He attended Michigan State University and performed in numerous musical groups and bands. He was a member of The Spartan Dischords, a twelve man a cappella group selected from the MSU Men’s Glee Club. For two summers while at MSU he performed as the Lead Singer/Dancer for the Golden Garter Revue in Traverse City, MI. It was there he got an opportunity to sing as an understudy for the Voices of Liberty at Epcot Center in Orlando, FL. He recently moved back to Columbus a few years ago to finish his degree at Capital University. He was a member and section leader of the Capital University Rock Ensemble directed by Dr. Mark Lochstamphor. He graduated from Capital University with a Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies Vocal Music Performance and Audio/Video Technology. Magna cum Laude.

Jon’s philosophy towards teaching and music in general centers on fun. Music and singing should be a release of stresses or a re-energizing of one self. So in his studio you are encouraged to express yourself, have fun, and enjoy the process of singing. He teaches the students to hear the subtle nuances of color in popular singers’ voices, and by studying these artists finding your own voice, style and color.

Deanna Sweeney

Deanna Sweeney has been a widely recognized name in the Central Ohio music community by both musicians and music fans alike for over 30 years. She grew up in a family of musicians and was heavily influenced by the roots oriented music they would play. Since then, she has developed a love for a variety of different styles such as rock, blues, country and jazz. Her career began as a vocalist and co-founder of the popular cover band Kokomo Jo. She was also the co-founder, vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for the rock band No Such Fate, whose self titled CD received excellent reviews. Aaron Beck of the Columbus Dispatch calls Deanna a “singer with skill, passion and a confidence lacking in most voices. Anyone remember Black Velvet singer Alanna Myles? Deanna Sweeney’s voice recalls that early ’90s powerhouse…”

Currently, Deanna sings, plays guitar, spends time in the recording studio, and performs on a regular basis throughout the mid-west with a variety of different groups, including the popular country band Jacked Up, who has shared the stage recently with some of Nashville’s hottest new country music stars.
